ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Village of Catlin, Illinois will receive sealed bids for the following project:
PAINTING EXISTING 65,000 GALLON
ELEVATED MULTI-COLUMN WATER STORAGE TANK
The project consists of supplying the labor, equipment, and materials necessary to paint the interior wet area and the exterior of the existing 65,000 gallon elevated water storage tank in accordance with the Contract Documents.
Bids will be received until closing time of 1:00 P.M. prevailing time on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Village Building, 109 S. Sandusky Street, Catlin, Illinois. The bids will be publicly read aloud at the Board Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on April 15, 2014. Bids received after the closing time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Bids submitted by mail should be identified on the outside of the envelope as a bid for “Elevated Tank Painting", and should be addressed to: Village of Catlin, 109 S. Sandusky, P.O. Box 627 Catlin, IL 61817.
The Contract Documents are on file at the Project Engineer’s office as follows: Fehr Graham, 340 North Neil Street, Champaign, Illinois 61820. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Fehr Graham at a price of $50.00 per set, non-refundable.
Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished and must be accompanied by an acceptable form of Proposal Guaranty in an amount of at least ten (10) percent of the amount of the Proposal, payable to the Village of Catlin, Illinois. The Proposal Guaranty shall be a certified check, bank draft, or an executed Bid Bond acceptable to the Owner as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and will file an acceptable Performance Bond, Payment Bond and Certificate of Insurance within twenty-one (21) days after the award of the Contract. A Proposal Guaranty consisting of a personal check will not be accepted. The Proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope.
Attention to the Bidders is called to Sections of the Illinois Revised Statutes (1981) pertaining to the prevailing wage law. The awarding authority has established the rates for the various classifications of workmen and craftsmen on the proposed improvement and the Contractor will be required to comply with the requirement of this statute. A copy of the prevailing wage determination is enclosed in bidding document.
Attention of the Bidder is also called to provisions of the Fair Employment Practices Act of the State of Illinois, and particularly to the provision of Section 4 thereof. The contract to be entered into shall be conditioned as provided by law.
Attention of the Bidders is called to provisions of the "Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act" Chapter 48, Sections 269-275 of the Illinois Revised Statutes. The Contract to be entered into shall be conditioned as provided by law.
Attention to the Bidder is called to qualifications and experience required of all bidders. To be considered a responsive, responsible bidder, the bidder must document on the Bid Form that he or she meets the experience requirements outlined in the Special Conditions of the Specifications.
The VILLAGE OF CATLIN, ILLINOIS, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.
No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without consent of the VILLAGE OF CATLIN, ILLINOIS, for a period of sixty (60) days.
