Human Services Transportation Plan

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Illinois HSTP Region 6 Policy and Technical Committees will meet jointly on Monday, May 19, 2014. This meeting will incorporate a PUBLIC HEARING regarding applications for Federal transit funding, notice of which is provided below as directed by the Illinois Department of Transportation Division of Public and Intermodal Transportation.

State of Illinois Consolidated Vehicle Purchase Grants for Illinois HSTP Region 6

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Livingston County Historic Courthouse, County Board Conference Room, for the purpose of considering projects for which financial assistance is being sought from the Illinois Department of Transportation, pursuant to the Illinois Department of Transportation’s general authority to make such grants.

Applicants include:; Good Shepherd Manor, Momence, Illinois; Futures Unlimited, Inc., Pontiac, Illinois; Mosaic, Pontiac, Illinois; SHOW BUS, Chenoa, Illinois, as §5311 operator for Kankakee County and for McLean County.

Representatives of the Applicant Agencies will present information about their programs at the Public Hearing, and respond to questions from the Region 6 Committees and members of the public at the discretion of the Committee Chair.

Projects may be included in a Consolidated Vehicle Procurement Program undertaken by the State of Illinois on behalf of the several Applicants, with State and Federal Funds. Funding sources may include Federal Section §5310 program grants.

Relocation: Relocation Assistance will not be required.

Environment: Projects are being implemented to minimize environmental impact.

Comprehensive Planning: These projects are in conformance with comprehensive transportation planning in the area.

Elderly and Disabled: All new equipment included in these projects will meet ADA accessibility rules for the elderly and persons with disabilities.

At the Public Hearing, the Policy and Technical Committees and Applicants will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic and environmental aspects of the projects. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing, evidence and recommendations with respect to said projects.

Copies of applications for state grants for the proposed projects in for the intended service area will be made available by the applicant agencies, or by the McLean County Regional Planning Commission.
