SECTION 1.1 – NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
The Owner will receive sealed Bids for the furnishing of all materials and labor necessary for sanitary sewer and water main work for the Taylor Ballfields Lighting Project within the Village of Mahomet, Champaign County, Illinois.

The Owner will receive sealed Proposals for a Unit Price Contract until 3:00 p.m., prevailing time on July 8, 2015, at the Village of Mahomet Administrative Building, 503 East Main Street, Mahomet, Illinois 61853, at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of the Engineer or of the Owner during normal business hours.
Project Description: The Project is located in the western portion of the Village of Mahomet in the general vicinity of the intersection of U.S. Route 150 and Hickory Street. The Project Work consists of all labor, equipment and incidentals materials needed to replace the existing ballfield lights and supporting facilities.
Complete sets of Contract Documents may be obtained at the offices of the Engineer upon payment of a non-refundable sum of $50.00 dollars for each set of Documents. Payment for each set shall be made in currency or by check, back draft, or money order payable to Berns, Clancy and Associates. Each such payment shall not be refunded.
Bid security in the amount of five thousand ($5,000) dollars must accompany each Proposal as a guarantee that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute a Contract and provide insurance within fifteen (15) days after award of the Contract. A Bid Bond, bank cashier’s check or certified check properly endorsed to the Owner are acceptable as bid security.
Contractors will be required to comply with all Federal, State and Municipal laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, prevailing wage, safety, bid-rigging, human rights, preferential employment of Illinois labor and equal opportunity employment.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applications for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bidding, to accept any Proposals which it deems most favorable, and to continue the letting from time to time as deemed necessary.
The successful Bidder will have to provide worker’s compensation insurance and liability insurance for property damage and injury to persons and other insurance in the amounts and types as set forth by the Contract Documents. At the time the successful Bidder enters into the Contract with the Owner, he shall provide a Contract Bond in the full amount of the Contract Price.
All Bidders must be experienced in the type of Work included in the Contract Documents and Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to make such investigations as it deems necessary to determine the competency of Bidders.
The time limit of all Work contained in the Contract is as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders.
Bids may be held by the Village of Mahomet for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
