1st Street Bike Path

The Village of Savoy will hold an Informational Meeting concerning the proposed improvement of Prairie Fields Multi-Use Path Phase 2 and 1st Street Multi-Use Path Path. The Prairie Fields Multi-use path will start at Church Street and run north and east to Curtis Road. At Curtis Road the MUP will continue on the west side of 1st Street to Windsor Road and tie into the existing MUP system. The informational meeting will be held at the Savoy Recreation Center on November 28, 2017 at 6 P.M. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting should contact the individual listed below by November 21, 2017. If special accommodations are required, the contact person should be informed at the time of contact. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability.

The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis. A brief presentation on the status of the project, the proposals under consideration and the decisions to be made will begin at 6:30 P.M. Representatives of the Village of Savoy will be available from 6:00-7:30 P.M. until the presentation and also after the presentation to discuss the project. Representatives will answer individual questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. Verbatim comments will not be recorded. The presentation will address topics such as the need for the project, the design alternatives under consideration, right-of-way acquisition, and the tentative construction schedule. Preliminary reports, including engineering analysis with drawings, maps and aerial photography, will be available for inspection and viewing during the entire time.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Urbana, Illinois will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. in the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, at which time and place the Commission will consider the following:

Plan Case 2320-T-17: An application by the Urbana Zoning Administrator to amend the Urbana Zoning Ordinance with minor changes to Article II (Definitions), Article V (Use Regulations), Article VI (Development Regulations), Article VIII (Parking and Access), Article IX (Signs), Article XI (Administration), Article XII (Historic Preservation), and Article XIII (Special Development Provisions).

The Urbana Zoning Administrator is proposing to amend the Zoning Ordinance, including but not limited to the following: amend Article II (Definitions) to remove unused definitions; amend Article V (Use Regulations) and Article VI (Development Regulations) to revise regulations in the B-2 District; amend Article VI (Development Regulations) to clarify requirements for Multiple Frontage Lots; amend Table VIII-7 (Parking Requirements by Use) to update parking requirements; amend Article XI (Administration) to clarify recording procedures; and to make any other changes that are deemed necessary to provide clarity and ease of administration.

WORKING CASH FUND BONDS

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that on the 21st day of November, 2017, the Board of Education (the “Board”) of Community Unit School District Number 57, Piatt and DeWitt Counties, Illinois (the “District”), adopted a resolution declaring its intention and determination to issue bonds in the aggregate amount of $300,000 for the purpose of increasing the Working Cash Fund of the District, and it is the intention of the Board to avail of the provisions of Article 20 of the School Code of the State of Illinois, and all laws amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto, and to issue said bonds for the purpose of increasing said Working Cash Fund. Said Working Cash Fund is to be maintained in accordance with the provisions of said Article and shall be used for the purpose of enabling the District to have in its treasury at all time sufficient money to meet demands thereon for expenditures for corporate purposes.

A petition may be filed with the Secretary of the Board (the “Secretary”) within thirty (30) days after the date of publication of this notice, signed by not less than 87 voters of the District, said number of voters being equal to ten percent (10%) of the registered voters of the District, requesting that the proposition to issue said bonds as authorized by the provisions of said Article 20 be submitted to the voters of the District. If such petition is filed with the Secretary on or before the 18th day of December, 2017, an election on the proposition to issue said bonds shall be held on the 20th day of March, 2018. If such petition is filed with the Secretary within thirty (30) days after the date of publication of this notice and after the 18th day of December, 2017, an election on the proposition to issue said bonds shall be held on the 6th day of November, 2018. The Circuit Court may declare that an emergency referendum should be held prior to either of said election dates pursuant to the provisions of Section 2A-1.4 of the Election Code of the State of Illinois, as amended. If no such petition is filed within said thirty (30) day period, then the District shall thereafter be authorized to issue said bonds for the purpose hereinabove provided.
